Day five...out with the wire...in with the tape!

For those of you who spent all that time and effort sewing the boat together with bits of copper wire, you will be happy to hear that today we cut and pulled it all out! Last week we epoxied the seams together and they held together nicely...well done! We were able to pull out all the wire and started to tape the inside seams together with fibreglass tape and epoxy. This was a great opportunity for everyone to do some fibreglass work. While the tape and epoxy was drying we had a chance to sand the tiller and centre-board case and apply a second coat of epoxy. Good work today everyone!

Great job taping the seems scouts, it looks terrific. Great pics Scouter Steve, my favourite is "many hands make light work" although Sam would probably pick the "random close up". Thanks again to Mr. Alp for all his generousity with his time, skills, and his home.

I am Scouter Steve, one of the leaders with the 63rd Windsor. Ontario Scouts. With the help of a VERY generous donation of a Mirror dinghy kit from Mirror Sailing Development, we have started building the boat with the assistance of Mr Don Alp. The plan is to launch the boat on June 7th in Woodstock, Ontario. Follow along with our progress and feel free to comment.
